Central Coast residents have seen Bing Bing Li pulling his cart across the county on foot for several days. In recent days he’s passed through Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo and the 5 Cities area.
The shirtless Canadian man of Chinese origin says he has logged thousands of miles, criss-crossing the western United States spreading his message of unconditional love as a means of solving the world’s problems. The Coast News caught up with Li as he passed through Grover Beach and Oceano his way to Guadalupe and Santa Maria.
Li won’t accept money. “I carry no cash or electronic devices,” he said. And he will only accept enough food for a day or two (he turned down 2 protein bars from us). “I got some great tangerines from some CalPoly students.”
Li said he intends to keep pulling his cart across the world “until my dying breath” because he wants people to join his movement to realize that equality and unconditional love will end human misery.
Li said he often sleeps in community centers or churches, and the occasional post office lobby. “I spent two nights in the Pismo Beach post office.”
