29th Annual Dune Run-Run
The Grover Beach Parks and Recreation Department is holding the 29th Annual Dune Run-Run on Saturday, August 26. “Get a Little Sand on Your Sole” is the catch phrase for this 5K Walk, 5K Run, and 10K Run that leads participants through a variety of surfaces, including the hard and soft-packed sand of the beautiful beach front of Grover Beach. The races are open to all ages and ability levels. The race begins at 8 a.m. with registration opening at 7 a.m. at the Ramona Garden Park Center in Grover Beach. Pre-register before August 18, 2017 to save on registration costs! Held in conjunction with the Stone Soup Music Faire, the Dune Run-Run is a beautiful and scenic cross-country run through Central Coast hard packed beach, soft sand dunes, beach boardwalk and the streets of Grover Beach. The 10K portion of the race can be a challenging combination of running surfaces for all ages. Medals will be awarded for those finishing in third place or above for each age category and gender group, with an award ceremony to follow at the Ramona Garden Park Center. Over 75 volunteers are needed to help ensure a safe and fun experience is had by all participants.
